Kick Butts Day – a free community event for students, family and friends

Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to speak up and take action against Big Tobacco at more than 2,000 events from coast to coast.  We are one of those events!  In partnership with The Poe Center and TRU (Tobacco Reality Unfiltered) through a grant from the Health Wellness Trust Fund, we will have community events in each of our dojos on March 24th.  They felt it would be a great combination of “quit smoking and get fit”.  Please bring all your friends and family for some FREE FOOD, a demo from our demo teams, some information on quitting smoking and some free Karate for all your friends.

APPLE DAY

Come to class on Apple Day and take your choice of fruits from our “apples and other fruits” table, at the end of class. 

MASTER SERIES CLASSES –March is Nunchaku Month!

For the whole month of March, the Master’s Club class will be working on Nunchaku skills.  In this month’s class we will cover the proper use of using single and double Nunchakus.  Adult and Teen Masters Club members and Adult Teaching Black Belts can attend the weekly one hour class on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.   Children who are Master’s Club members can attend the children’s Master’s class on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m.

PARENTS CAN USE THE WEIGHT TRAINING AND CARDIO EQUIPMENT!

There is a policy at Karate International that is not well known!  Parents of children training at Karate International are welcome to use our treadmills, bikes, stairmaster or any of our weight training equipment, during their child’s class.  So, if you are having trouble fitting in your workout, let us be part of the solution.  It is absolutely free! 

HAVE YOU USED YOUR VIP PASSES?

Several of you have been asking about VIP passes.  We are sending them out this week.  If by any chance, you need some before you receive them in the mail, please see Josh at the front counter to get your passes right away.  If you are new to Karate, basically, the VIP pass is a guest pass that you can give to a friend.  The VIP passes are for your very good friends.  They include a free month of karate and a uniform.  Now, these VIP passes are valued at $150, so what a great present that would be for a friend.  Please have your friends give us a call or an email to set an appointment for their first class.

PARENT BUDDY DAY is Saturday, March 27th. 

Come with your child to their regularly scheduled class.  Your child will get to be your Karate teacher/partner, for that class.  It is a great bonding experience and it gives your child a chance to show you what they’ve learned, and you get a free Parent Coach T-shirt!

BLACK BELT FRIDAY is Friday, April 9th  – 7:00 p.m.

Black Belt Friday is Friday, April 9th.  This is an event, we host twice per year.  It originated because the Black Belts in our school spend so much time teaching, it seemed that our students never got to see us perform.  So, we started an event, many years ago, that would be a fun evening of outstanding Black Belt performances.  We will give you an evening of great demonstrations, some very serious – and some filled with humor!  Everybody will be talking about this show the following week.  There definitely will be many broken blocks to clean up.  Part of this show, is to allow Black Belts, who have met all their requirements of promotion, to demonstrate to complete their testing process.   Please mark the date on your calendar. Tickets go on sale, for Black Belt Friday, at the promotion ceremony on Friday, March 19th Tickets are $5.00 in advance for Master’s Club Members, $7.00 in advance for all other members and $10.00 at the door.  Black Belts are not required to purchase a ticket.  Come join us for the fun!
