Mr. Houston began
studying martial arts in 1987 under Mr. Olevsky, 9th degree black belt
and chief instructor of the Raleigh branch of KI. He earned his
black belt in 1992 and began teaching karate in 1995. He achieved the
ranking of Master Instructor (6th degree black belt) in 1999
after only 12 years of training. Mr. Houston also holds a 4th
degree Black Belt in Sanshinkai jujitsu and a 2nd degree brown belt in
Kodokan judo. In November 2005 Master Houston was promoted to 7th
Degree Black Belt.
Along with his
exceptional record training adult students, Mr. Houston excels at working
with children, especially those with special behavioral needs.
